Portrait of a Homemaker

I don't care for photos of myself. Not at all, makes me very self conscience. But I am participating in a 52 week challenge on Flickr, given by a very talented photog and this weeks challenge is abandonment OR doors. Here in ND there are plenty of abandoned farms but honestly i am not going out in weather that is practically not compatible with human life. Several month ago I noticed that the reflection in my dryer door has a dreamy, smokey quality to it, so I used this challenge to use that door. I promised myself I would stretch and myself with each challenge and defiantly with this one it is that my likeness is in the image. but I have to say overall I am pleased with the picture. I think it really looks like me, the curly hair, a melancholy expression {I am such a Eyeor}, the wrinkles forming on my neck. I love the verse I included in this image. Dim reflection ..... something to come that will be face to face. His great love..... love that abides.

Window Light on a Winter's Day

Photobucket

Just a Reminder....

that the green of summer will return. The sweet smell of clover will hang heavy in the air. Buzzing bees and songbirgs will sing their mid-summers song. Heavy warm sun will kiss your skin and winter will seem a million miles away. Just though I would remind you :)

A Little Stuart Little Bed.

Laura is reading Stuart Little right now. When I told her she would need to write a book report at the end she grimaced. But she was ecstatic when I told her she could build a few things from the book as she read. So started the idea for the little bed and next will be his canoe. She LOOOOVES to make 3-D art so this was great fun for her. There are still some grumpy eyebrows when I mention the report but I think she will be able to push through.

She used her new sewing machine for the first time to make the tiny blanket and pillow.

Laura handstitched the end of the pillow with pretty red embroidery thread.

New Journal!!!

Don't you just a love a new journal or notebook? Empty pages just waiting for your pen and thoughts and experiences. That is sort of what Our Blessed Life is, a new book or chapter. A big change in 2011 for me as I go back to being "just a mom". I can't tell you how happy I am about it!!! Well, I am going to try in the next few posts and I will explain the external and internal struggle that went on to let go of  Wildflower Photography.

Here I am back at blogger where my online journal journey began. It will be a  joy to have you all interact with Our Blessed Life. Please check back often to follow my photographic art, scrapbooks, homeschooling adventures and encouragementt, and maybe a few recipes thrown in here and there :) Please leave comments and be a follower and feel free to ask questions about photography or homeschooling or why I wear my hair like Carrot Top. I will do my best to answer.

Finding Joy in the Struggle,
Miz Blessed
